In the early days of HGTV, I spent a lot of TV-time getting to know the design style of Interior Designer, Joe Ruggiero.
His shows, like Homes Across America are captivating and inspiring. Magazines, books (Staged to Sell, Outdoor Kitchens, First Impressions, to name a few) and television programs are a sample of the venues where Mr. Ruggiero's work is showcased.
And he now shares his expertise in the world of design in blog format and on Twitter. Designers who share insights, information and ideas using technology and social networking are a great bonus to enthusiasts like ourselves.
For those in the design trade, you can hear Mr. Ruggiero present "The World of Design" at the Washington Design Center on September 24.
There is also a monthly newsletter sharing the latest in the Joe Ruggiero Collection. The photos included in the newsletters are outstanding too.
His 'eye for the practical' is in sync with what I'd like to achieve for our home.
Styles and fads come and go, but I remain inspired by Mr. Ruggiero today as I did when I first began watching HGTV in 1994.
Not only do I have a great appreciation for Interior Designers like Mr. Ruggiero, I am also thankful for cable television and modern technology.
