When it comes to Peru and textiles, my familiarity begins and ends with clothing from the Peruvian Connection and their catalog.
Last Friday night, that changed. I expanded my horizons having the opportunity to meet the very cordial Sandra Jordan, textile designer of the Prima Alpaca Collection.
The fabrics have a sensual feel of cashmere and are capable of many things for our home, like drapery panels, upholstery, wall coverings and throws. And pillows.
The line debuted in 2006 and is represented by Holly Hunt here in DC.
To see how local designer, Mary Douglas Drysdale utilized these fabrics in her own home, please see tonight's blog post by Jennifer Sergent of DC by Design. The drapery panels are exquisite. With the upholstered sofa and throw pillows, it brings together a cozy and sophisticated look.
I am pretty sensitive to fabrics and how some can make my skin itch. Let's just say I now want to drape myself in Prima Alpaca fabric.
Maybe while I am at it, I can drape a window or two and throw some Alpaca over the sofa.
