With a recent acquisition of a set of decorative plates (at a phenomenal price that I couldn't pass it up) by a favorite designer of mine, Barbara Barry, I have been hunting for the perfect place to hang them in our home.
Before I begin hammering holes into our walls, I searched online for some inspiration and this is what I found:
Using the same pattern of plates in a set of 3 (source: Traditional Home).
I do love how these neutral plates pop-out against a dark wall (source: Baker Furniture).
Mixing plates with artwork & mirrors (source: House Beautiful).
A grouping of decorative plates over a bed is something I'd like to try (source: Southern Living). Unfortunately we do not have a wall behind our bed, rather a window.
If we had the right window, we could have hung art in the middle as shown here (source: Southern Living).
I also found an eclectic mix of decorative plates (source: POINTclickHOME).
What appeals to me in turning plates into pieces of art is that it adds another element to the decor of your home. Depending on the plates, it is a cost-effective way to decorate your surroundings without causing your checkbook a lot of heartburn too.
If you are looking for decorative plates, be sure to check out ceramics designed by Rosanna. They are fun, whimsical and chic.
I now return to my inspiration research in finding the ideal wallscape template.
