It's Christmas morning and you realize that you forgot to get Uncle Bob, who is joining the family for dinner that day, a gift. If you are like many of us, you feel the need to have something on hand for Uncle Bob to open because you do not want him to feel left out.
But on Christmas morning, the only retailer open is 7-Eleven.
So the shopper-in-me wanted to take on this challenge in finding something appropriate for gift-giving from 7-Eleven.
I discovered gift cards from various retailers & restaurants, including Lowe's & Applebees. Our local 7-Eleven carries Korbel Champagne which makes for a nice celebratory gift. They also carry NFL merchandise with our store carrying various Redskins goodies such as ornaments, pens, bottle openers and so forth.
My purchases included Lottery holiday-themed scratch & win tickets and candy.
If there is a gas station open in your area on Christmas day, gas gift cards are ideal, particularly for teens with a driver's license.
And sometimes there are shops open at the airport, should you find yourself traveling or picking-up loved ones on Christmas day.
Movie theaters are also open too.
My advice is to make the best of every situation. The effort you put behind the gift is what is appreciated most.
