It began when I found a bargain of the century. This light fixture for our kitchen island. When I came across it, I loved the style. And when I discovered the price, it was the icing on the cake and an opportunity not to pass-up. I ordered it and it sat in our basement for over 6 months. (Sadly, I learned this evening that the catalog I purchased it from is now out of business. It probably explains why I got such a great deal.)
Nonetheless, I am very pleased. It has taken us 3 years to get to this point and we still have a long road ahead of us when it comes to our home and making it our own.
To me, this fixture displays a combination of traditional style with a bit of Tuscan flavor. In many decorating magazines and books, I have read where the designers emphasize how important lighting is to decor. And I can see why. In fact, BHG has even dedicated a magazine to the very subject.
This new fixture is now motivating me to clean-up the kitchen. I just need to find something that will motivate me to cook, as tonight, there will be no cooking.
I just filled up my tummy with Skinny Cow ice cream cones. They are my new-found addiction. And they were tonight's dinner because I ate 2 of them. I couldn't stop at one. Oh my.
