One thing my sister and I have in common is the date of our wedding anniversary, which we both celebrated recently. And in a recent phone conversation about our anniversaries, we both could not recall what we did last year to celebrate it. Life is always busy and the past just fades away much easier as we're older.
My sister calls me back to say she has a brilliant idea....how about an anniversary journal where each year they (herself and her hubby) make an entry about their anniversary on that particular day. For instance, she included a card from flowers he sent her and wrote some details she wanted to document. And her hubby also shared some thoughts and included a card he gave her.
I've decided this is a must for my guy and me although we are very late in the game to start one (after 19 years) but better late than never, right!?
I do recall some anniversaries, but not all of them. So, I've ordered a blank journal and am ready to start on this project very soon. I plan to include a business card of the restaurant we ate it, the label from the bottle of wine I drank (I didn't drink the whole bottle...just to be clear on that) and some sentimental thoughts from the day. Then I'm going to pass it onto my guy for his input.
The key is we must do this every year AND we must remember where we placed the journal. :)
